New Year 2008
New
Year's Eve started with dinner with friends, Elaine, Stuart and family,
in Magic Round About. And guess where we went after? Of course,
Tropical. It was absolutely a fantastic night with more friends coming
to Tropical. It was like a children's party with these huge families
taking over the dance floor but we had an enjoyable evening altogether. Daz reckons, this season have been the best Christmas/New Year celebration we ever had. For me of course, it's always great when I'm with Daz! :)
Christmas 2007
Christmas
celebrations took place in Tropical. We had our Christmas eve dinner
with the staff from Tropical - compliments to the organizers, Marcela
and Kety. We stayed in Tropical for the celebrations and the rest of the
bingo staff and friends came later on to join the fun. It was a
fantastic night of getting "bevvied", dancing and singing along to the
cabaret shows. Not to forget, dancing to Ricky Dale's act. (A special
dance move - long story! You want to know the move, ask Daz or DJ Dave
from Tropical!)
Bingo Fiesta 2007
Christmas
dinner for Bingo staff took place on December 17 at Pizzicato. We have
some new faces within the bingo family and it's great. I think the
family is getting bigger every year or so it seems! Dinner was fantastic like always and company likewise. We were careful about the drinks since most of us were working the following day. After dinner, we went to Tropical bar - drank a bit and danced a bit. Altogether it was a fantastic affair!
Fonts de Algar
A
day trip with our friends, Kety and Miro to Fonts de Algar, which is
about half an hour drive from where we live, in Callosa. It has
beautiful views of the mountain side, the water falls and pools of
waters. Very famous with Spanish tourists and gets extremely busy. The day started off with a picnic, followed by a trek to the waterfalls. Despite the fact that there were loads of people, the surrounding seems very peaceful. I think next time we plan our visit, it has to be before the school vacation starts!
Summer 2007
Summer
2007 was eventful - new home, loads of projects and fun in the sun. Our
biggest project was doing the garden and it was a labour of love. Daz
and I wanted to finish our garden before we reach the height of summer
since it could really get stupid hot! BBQ dinners and special outings with friends were part of the agenda not to forget a refreshing dip into the pool. Unfortunately, I can't convince Daz to join me for a swim - unless of course there is a large water slide like the water park in Terra Natura.
May 2007 End of season dinner
Second
to the last day of our Bingo season, the Sinatra's daytime staff got
together for dinner at an Italian restaurant in Albir, Pizzecato. The
season was longer this year and everyone I guess was eager to start
their summer holiday. Like always, our favourite Italian resturant never
fails to impress. The food was good, the staff service perfect and the
cooks even serenaded us while we had our coffee and dessert. After
dinner, it was home time for us since we still had bingo the following
day - the last for the season!
La Nucia Home
After
spending 2 years in La Cala, we decided we needed a bigger space and
searched for an ideal house with plenty of room to expand. This house has been a great home but we always knew it wasn't ideal in the longer run. Daz and I both agreed, it's not the kind of house we would buy if given a chance. It was great until we felt the urge to buy our very own. We've had fantastic times here and it's been a perfect home for a certain period of time. We hoped, after we bought our first home together, that the next tenants in this house will be happy and lucky in the way we had been happy and lucky .
2006/2007 New Year at the Melia
As
a special treat, Daz booked us over New Year for 3 nights at the Melia
Hotel in Benidorm. And the icing on the cake was a Junior Suite with the
most fabulous view. After seeing the fantastic fireworks
at the Melia a year before, Daz suggested to spend New Year in Melia
hotel. We weren't so keen about the Gala dinner but more on the
fireworks from the top floor where our room was. And one of the best
feature of the junior suite is the bathroom - it was surrounded by large windows that overlooks
the surrounding buildings and the city. And not to forget, the tub is
built for two! How romantic!

Christmas Eve dinner 2006
Christmas was celebrated with friends in an Indian restaurant. It was quite a stressful procedure to decide on the venue since most restaurants on Christmas eve were closed. We love our Indian but would have prefered a more traditional dinner and moreover, we weren't sure how the rest of the group would like the idea of an Indian Christmas Eve. To my surprise it turned out pretty well and everyone enjoyed their grub despite a few of us never had an Indian before. After dinner, we all headed to Tropical Bar.
Daz' 40th Birthday
On
December 20, 2006, we celebrated Daz' 40th birthday with
friends, staff and former staff of Sinatra's daytime
brigade. Instead of having the staff's Christmas party, I
thought a surprise party for Darren would be ideal since he
was celebrating his 40th. He knew something was afoot but he
still got his surprise when his Wigan Warrior birthday cake
was brought in. We had dinner at Hogwarts followed by some
more celebrations in Tropical Bar where Daz surprised the
crowd with an Elvis number with the singer Stevie B. I was
surprised myself - didn't know my beloved hubby could sing!
Miro's Birthday
With
just a few more weeks to go before the Bingo season start,
we celebrated Miro's birthday in Tropical on September 2006.
It was a small gathering with Miro's friends but altogether
an enjoyable nightout. I made the birthday boy his birthday
cake but it was torture since I made it the last minute and
there was little time for the cake to set. On the way to
Tropical Bar, I had the cake on my lap and it was on the
verge of collapsing. Of course I didn't blame it on my last
minute effort but blamed it on the heat and Daz' driving. At
one point I felt like chucking the cake out the window. At
the end, it turned out to be perfect with the cake safe in
the fridge and the celebrant happy!
