Terra Mitica May 2011
First
week into our summer break, we went with friends to
Terra
Mitica. Initially I didn't want to go - I thought it would be a
waste of money since I wasn't into scary rides. Friends convinced me
that it wasn't only about scary rides - there were other things to see,
rides that weren't heart stopping and besides, the tickets were free. I
was glad we went - it was beautiful inside and there were loads of
things to do for everyone. It's a must visit and I'll definately be back
- free tickets or not. :)
New Year's Eve and Day 2010/11
We
spent New Year with Kety and Stan in their home and it was a great idea
since we have spent little time with each other after Stan stopped
working in day-time Sinatra's. We missed Stan working with us after all
these years seeing him every day at work. It was an intimate dinner with
good friends and good food with a lot of catching up on stories of our
daily lives. The next day was another day of indulging and relaxing.
Christmas Eve 2010
I
have always loved Christmas Eve despite the hecticness at work. And this
year was no different. The night before was busy with preparations for
Christmas day - baking and marinating and last minute gift wrapping.
At work, as expected was really busy but great fun. For Christmas Eve
dinner we went with friends to
Pinocchio restaurant at the beach front for an intimate dinner and
Christmas day was spent relaxing and indulging.
Christmas Staff Party 2010
Christmas
Staff party this year took place in the center of Benidorm in the famous
Queen's Hotel. Normally we
would have opted for a venue outside town but this time we thought we'll
keep things central. The reason being is I didn't want Darren running
everyone around in the car - this is his party as well and I wanted him
to enjoy it. And enjoyed it, we did. We had a fabulous three course
dinner and a wonderful waiter, Peter who made sure we had everything we
wanted and that we were enjoying ourselves. After dinner we stayed
behind in the hotel for a session of karaoke. All in all it was a
fantastic evening.
Kitchen Renovation
October
2010, after a summer of dreaming and planning of a new kitchen, we went
ahead with the renovation. This was one of the distressing period we've
had to go through since we moved into our new house. Our lives was
literally turned upside down when our old kitchen area was turned into a
construction site. Although it was an exciting time, it was frustrating
as well to live without a kitchen. You don't realise how your life
revolves around this area of space until it's taken from you. I have to
admit, the wait and "hair-pulling" was all worth it when it was finally
over. Our kitchen is truly a dream kitchen and I couldn't have ask for a
much better one.

Stan's Birthday 2010
We
celebrated Stan's birthday in an Indian restaurant in Villajoyosa
over-looking the sea. It was a beautiful day with a beautiful company. I
think the venue choice was inspired by our previous dinner there a
couple of weeks back when we visited the Cuevas de Canelobre. The
meal was lovely and plentiful and all in all , I think Stan had a grand
time although he was tired from work from the previous night shift. And
I have a feeling he liked his candle better than he did his cake. ;)
Cuevas de Canelobre 2010
With
new the bingo season just around the corner, it was only fitting to
spend time with friends before the hecticness of work sets in. We
decided to visit a famous cave in our area up in the mountains of Busot,
Cuevas de Canelobre which was quite a long drive from where we live. The
drive was enjoyable and the view from the mountain side was
breath-taking. It was such a fun joy drive we didn't mind getting lost
on the way back home. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures
within the cave - it is to protect the crystals that have been growing
in there for the last thousands of years. We ended the day with an
Indian dinner in Villajoyosa
